The Bodhana Group presents a new kind of group therapy for those seeking a more adventurous approach:
THERAPEUTIC TABLETOP ROLE PLAYING GROUPS
CONTACT US TODAY TO FIND OUT HOW YOU OR YOUR CHILD CAN JOIN A GROUP!
A tabletop role-playing game (RPG) allows participants to describe their characters' actions through speech, immersing them in a world of rules, characters, and challenges. This world can be set in any time or place, and players can take on various roles, such as a knight, a 1920s paranormal investigator, a teenager in a dystopian future, or even a dog, as seen in the game Pugmire.
Each RPG has a Game Master who guides the story, presents challenges, and mediates the gameplay. At The Bodhana Group, our therapists act in this role, helping address behavioral and mental health issues in children, teens, and adults through group play therapy. The creative nature of RPGs allows for targeted storytelling, enabling participants to explore emotional management in a safe, judgment-free environment.
Group sessions last 2 hours, once per week, and begin with at least three compatible participants. For those with more intense needs, we offer closed groups with carefully selected participants. Add a bit of adventure to your self-care routine and discover new opportunities for growth!
