Service Description

6 CE Hours This additional training is designed to add another option to the toolkit of any practitioner utilizing narrative role playing games in their therapeutic practice. We will introduce participants to the potential of the role playing game system Kids on Bikes. Trainees will be taught and experience the basics of the rules, character creation, and collaborative world building accompanied by a short playthrough. This is combined with exercises throughout the training discussing the natural opportunities for the system of Kids on Bikes that can be adapted for intentional therapeutic and skill building use. Training lasts for eight hours from 9am-5pm. As part of their registration participants will receive a PDF copy of Kids on Bikes. Learning Objectives: 1. Familiarize participants with the core mechanics and setting of the Kids on Bikes role playing game system to develop proficiency in playing it 2. Identity therapeutic connections and opportunities for work on clinical goals in group settings using the rules and design elements of Kids on Bikes 3. Create characters, collaboratively build worlds and story elements and experience actual play within the system to increase proficiency in running Kids on Bikes for therapeutic use 4. Practice collaboratively creating storylines and adventure arcs for therapeutic use from redacted client examples
